Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 24, 2026 • Verified Against Codebase Architecture
Summary: Free, No Account, Nothing Leaves Your Browser
Worksheet Mill operates as a 100% static, client-side web application. All math problem generation, clock drawing, and worksheet layout formatting take place directly in your web browser. We do not require accounts, we do not run server-side databases, and we never collect, transmit, or store student work or identifying personal records.
1. Student Privacy and COPPA Stance
Worksheet Mill is designed exclusively for adult educators—specifically classroom teachers, private tutors, and parents or legal guardians. The website is not targeted at or directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and GDPR-K regulations.
Because worksheets are printed physically or completed offline, students never submit work through the website. No student names, ages, grades, evaluation scores, or individual answers are ever transmitted to or stored on our servers.
2. Comprehensive Browser Storage Disclosure (localStorage Audit)
In strict adherence to truthful transparency, we audit our client-side source code to disclose every browser storage key used by the application. Worksheet Mill does not use tracking cookies or persistent database sessions.
The table below reflects the complete, verified list of HTML5 Web Storage (localStorage) keys utilized across the entire site codebase:
| localStorage Key | Allowed Values | Purpose | Lifespan & Scope |
|---|---|---|---|
| msg_consent | 'granted' | 'denied' | Records your decision from the Privacy Choices banner regarding optional Google Analytics 4 performance cookies under Google Consent Mode v2. | Stored exclusively on your device until manually cleared or updated via the “Privacy Choices” link in the site footer. |
| msg_display_prefs | {"largePrint": boolean, "dyslexiaFont": boolean} | Remembers your accessibility display preferences (large print preset and dyslexia-friendly font) across worksheet sessions so your preferred formatting applies automatically to every sheet. | Stored exclusively on your device until manually cleared in your browser settings. Never transmitted to any server. |
Verification Note: Automated code scans confirm that zero additional keys exist in local storage or session storage. Worksheet configurations and difficulty presets are maintained strictly in transient in-memory component state during your active page session.
3. Analytics and Consent-Gated Measurement (GA4)
To understand which worksheet tools are most helpful to educators and identify broken links, we configure Google Analytics 4 (GA4). We enforce strict privacy safeguards using Google Consent Mode v2:
- Default Denied State: By default, all non-essential analytics storage (
analytics_storage) is strictly denied. Prior to explicit visitor consent, zero analytics network requests or tracking scripts are executed. - IP Anonymization: When analytics is permitted, IP anonymization is permanently enabled (
anonymize_ip: true), truncating visitor IP addresses before storage. - No Cross-Site Profiling: We do not enable Google Signals or demographic remarketing profiling features.
- Consent Revocation: You can change or revoke your analytics consent at any time by clicking the “Privacy Choices” button in the footer of any page.
4. Advertising and Third-Party Vendors
Worksheet Mill is an independently operated website supported by display advertising. In production, advertisements are served through Google AdSense.
Under our child-directed stance and COPPA compliance rules:
- The site addresses adults (teachers, parents, homeschool educators); it is not directed to children.
- No personal student data or behavioral profiling is provided to ad networks.
- Advertising containers are completely removed in print output (`@media print`), ensuring no commercial ads ever appear on paper distributed to children.
5. Data Retention and Security
Because we operate without user accounts, databases, or cloud storage for generated worksheets, there is no centralized database of user records to breach or retain. Your worksheet seeds and selections exist solely within your browser’s volatile memory.
6. Contact Information & Data Rights
If you have questions regarding our privacy practices or wish to submit an inquiry regarding data protection, please contact us via email at [email protected].
